“Hi, my name is Simon Cutter, and I run a beef farm specialising in Hereford cattle in Herefordshire.”

Our farm is a family-run operation that truly began to take shape in 1988 when I took over the tenancy of Model Farm from the Herefordshire Council. We’ve always embraced organic principles, and since 1999, we’ve been formally certified as an organic farm.

Currently, we have 110 pedigree Hereford organic cows, and with these cattle, we’ve developed a low-cost suckler beef enterprise as part of a fertility-building crop rotation. The Hereford breed has been instrumental in the success of our operation. They consistently produce beef with excellent eating quality, and their ability to turn forage into tender, succulent meat is something our customers truly appreciate.

In 2022, we were honoured to win Beef Farmer of the Year at the Farmers Weekly Awards. We firmly believe that our Hereford cattle played a crucial role in this achievement. Their low-maintenance, environmentally friendly, and healthy characteristics make them the most sustainable and cost-effective breed available.

We are passionate about our cattle and look forward to continuing to grow our operation with them.
